Kathryn de BruinICEEFT Certified Trainer
Kathryn de Bruin is a Marriage and Family Therapist, Certified EFT Trainer and Supervisor. She is the Director of Renova in San Diego which is a non-profit serving children and families. Kathryn teaches Play Therapy at the University of California, San Diego, in the Play Therapy Program. She started EFT South Africa, she supports various EFT communities and is a Director for the San Diego Center for EFT. As an AAMFT supervisor, Kathryn enjoys providing supervision in person and online. Supervisees have described her as warm, perceptive and skilled. Greg CheneyICEEFT Certified Trainer
Dr. Greg Cheney is a retired U.S. Army Chaplain, Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, AAMFT Approved Supervisor, and Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Supervisor. He holds a PhD in Counseling and Counselor Education.
In his final military assignment, he served as Director of the Watters Family Life Center for Counseling & Resiliency and led the Family Life Chaplain Qualification Course at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Today, he is the Owner and Clinical Director of Valiant Couples Therapy and Consulting in Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina.
Greg’s military career spans years deployed with airborne infantry and Special Forces units in Iraq and Afghanistan. He has spent decades supporting soldiers and their families through the unique challenges of military life and reintegration.
As an EFT Trainer, Greg brings a distinctive voice to the work. His combat and caregiving experience deeply inform how he applies Emotionally Focused Therapy with combat veterans and first responders—and how he trains clinicians who serve these resilient but often underserved communities.
