What sequence do I take EFT courses in?

Emotionally Focused Therapy has three streams: EFIT (EFT for Individuals), EFCT (EFT for Couples) and EFFT (EFT for Families). A therapist can become certified in one or more of these streams. Each stream has a required 4-day training (Essentials for EFIT or EFFT, Externship for EFCT) plus subsequent training to deepen understanding.

Our recommended first step for any EFT journey is our 1-day “Fundamentals of EFT” course, which provides a grounding in attachment science and EFT for all streams.

Forming new communities

ICEEFT supports the formation of new communities. Community leaders can form a formal organization, which often provides a way for local EFT practitioners to get together, to support the development of EFT therapists, and to share the community’s passion for EFT.

Membership Types
Full Membership is available to mental health professionals who have completed a 4-day EFT training (EFIT Essentials, EFCT Externship, or EFFT Essentials). Reduced rates are available for Student Membership (for eligible students) and Associate Membership (open to anyone).

Receive complimentary ICEEFT Membership as an eligible graduate of a 4-day EFT training event.
